These are garment shoulder references, separate from the body measurements above. Lay a well-fitting jacket flat and measure across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. Shoulder construction varies by style; ask us to check the garment you are considering.

Between sizes? Consider the measurement that needs the most room, the fabric's stretch and how you want to move. A slim fit does not automatically mean a smaller size. If unsure, ask our team before ordering.

Measure with confidence

Use a soft tape over light, close-fitting clothing. Stand naturally, breathe normally and keep the tape level, comfortably snug without pulling it tight.

Front-view measuring demonstration using SOGNA models: 1 marks the fullest bust or chest, 2 the natural waist, and 3 the fullest hips. The tape stays level around the body. — Measure around the body at the three numbered points. Model imagery demonstrates tape placement, not actual model measurements or a target body shape.

Bust / chest
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust or chest, passing under your arms and straight across your back.
Natural waist
Measure where your torso naturally bends, usually the narrowest part above your navel. Keep your abdomen relaxed.
Full hip
Stand with your feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Body size and garment size are different. Clothing needs room for movement. If a product lists flat garment measurements, compare them with a similar piece you already wear comfortably.

Check the fit in real life

A good fit works beyond the mirror. Try your piece with the shoes and layers you plan to wear, then give yourself a little room to live in it.

Sit comfortably

Check the waist, hips and thighs. Buttons and zips should close comfortably without straining.

Walk naturally

Take a few steps. Make sure the hem and shape allow your normal stride.

Reach with ease

Move your arms gently forward. Check for pulling across the back, chest and upper arms.

Choose the intended silhouette of the garment, whether relaxed, tailored or slim, with enough ease for you. Size labels alone cannot tell the whole story.

A custom order based on the Sebastian 3209 Morning Suit, combining a slim silhouette, single-button fastening and a cutaway morning-coat design with the selected 2056/8 Black brocade fabric. Suitable for weddings and formal occasions.

Custom order specification

Design reference: Sebastian Morning Suit, style 3209.
Fabric selection: 2056/8 Black, patterned brocade. Confirm the exact fibre composition with the supplier before making composition claims.
Requested size: 44. Record final measurements and any fit adjustments before production.
Requested quantity: 1. Order notation supplied: 44/1.
Wholesale/custom price: A$600.00 for the agreed custom-order item. This is the full item price, not the deposit amount. Tax is handled under the store's existing tax settings.
Garments included: confirm and record whether the quoted price covers the morning coat only or also includes trousers. Waistcoat, shirt, tie/bow tie, footwear and other accessories shown in the reference photograph are not confirmed inclusions.
Final details: confirm coat and sleeve lengths, fit, lapels, lining, buttons, pockets and any other changes in the written order specification. If trousers are included, record their fabric, waist, rise, inseam and finished length separately.

Estimated waiting time

Please allow approximately 6 weeks from receipt of the agreed deposit. Final specifications, measurements and fabric availability should be confirmed before the deposit is taken. SOGNA will confirm the estimated fitting or collection date once the supplier accepts the order. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed event-date delivery commitment. Any outstanding approvals, requested changes or production delays may affect the timing; revised dates must be communicated and recorded. Allow additional time for any agreed fitting adjustments.

Deposit and balance

The deposit amount or percentage must be agreed and recorded on the customer's order before payment. Record the amount received, payment date and receipt number. Credit the deposit towards the A$600 item total and show the remaining balance, together with any separately approved extras and the agreed balance-payment date. A product listing does not confirm that a deposit has been paid.

Custom-order process

Consultation: record customer name, phone/email, event date and required collection date. Confirm quantity and exactly which garments are included.
Measure and approve: confirm size 44, take the required measurements, approve fabric 2056/8 Black and record all style and fit details. Obtain the customer's approval of the written specification and price.
Take the agreed deposit: record the actual payment against the customer order. Calculate an indicative date 6 weeks after payment and label it estimated; do not mark the product as ready for collection.
Place the custom order: send the approved specification and both reference images to the supplier. Record the supplier order reference, fabric confirmation, acceptance date and estimated completion/arrival date.
Track production: the staff member responsible for the order follows up with the supplier, records progress and advises the customer promptly of any revised timing. Obtain approval for any proposed changes or extra charges before proceeding.
Inspect and fit: on arrival, check style, fabric, size, measurements and workmanship against the approved specification. Arrange the customer's fitting and record any agreed adjustments and associated timing or charges.
Complete and collect: confirm the finished fit, record payment of the agreed outstanding balance and the customer's collection acknowledgement. Complete fulfilment only when the garment is handed over or dispatched.
